[Newegg] 10% Newegg Credit/GC for Future Use (Expires in 90 days of Issue Date)

Received an email from Newegg for the promotion offer.

Make a purchase today (May 20, 2021) and get a 10% credit/giftcard (up to $50) for future purchases.

The kicker: Credit/GC must be used within 90 days of being issued

Guess it's good if you plan to make multiple purchases from Newegg in the upcoming months.

Weird that Newegg has this "giftcard" promotion when most provinces don't allow for GC expiry....

It's not a gift card legally, it's a promo card that can expire.

liked them better when it was always 10% on anything all day long when no provincial tax collected on Quebec orders. good old days.

Really straddling the line there..........and what would Consumer Protection Ontario say about this........

Edit:
Hypothetical example
Let's say you offer a promotional GC with the purchase of a "regular" GC. Spend $90 and get a $90 regular GC + $10 promo GC. So can you say that the $10 "promo" GC is subject to expiry?

Could you use the promotional credit / gift card to purchase another gift card? Nintendo Eshop gift card ($35 one) is 7% off. So opportunity there

Kinda dont want to call it a deal when:
  1. It expires
  2. Asks you want to spend more
  3. Limit to $50
Not op's fault, its just that Newegg is not gonna attract the rfd crowd this way.

Is Newegg charging restock fees for returns lately? I've been seeing more talk of that around. I just got RAM the other day, not only this deal but I checked and the RAM price dropped too.

Yes and no. Rules regarding GCs are set out by provincial authorities.

Most gift cards don’t expire.
Depending on the rules in your province or territory, the following gift cards may have an expiry date.
