I'm not sure what old HDD you'll be putting in it, but I would rather put my $15 towards a newer portable drive or USB drive.

In for three. I have lots of 2.5 GB drives, and nothing to put them in.

I'm looking for one to use to run my weekly backup of my laptop... so i need a fast transfer speed... any suggestions.

Will probably use a 1TB Ssd in it so.. can't have the interface slowing it down

(Don't let the USB C, or 3.1, 3.0 ...etc fool you. None of the sub-$40 enclosure has a decent enough chipset to even give you 400MB(megabyte)/s)
I bought one from your link. Hope it's good enough to get data out of old hds.

Some people have 1TB or 2TB 2.5" HDDs left over from when they upgraded their laptops to SSD.

Thanks. That is a very economical option. Even supports UASP and supports 7mm height drives.
