[Newegg] AMD Ryzen 5900x $619.99 free shipping

Great chip, 12 cores/24 threads and that big 64mb cache is great for many workloads.

Waiting for Ryzen 5xxx XT or the current model's price be closer to Intel's Alder Lake.

I'd just bought this chip from Best Buy for $40 more last week, assuming they'd price match, but they won't because it's "limited" to two per customer. Which is ridiculous because I just need one, it's a weasly way out of a common sense interpretation of the policy (I'd assumed it meant they only have a certain number at that price). Guess that's one more reason to avoid Best Buy.

How do you know for sure?

The 5950 is still over $900.

The 5900x is superior to the 5950x for some applications due to design differences.

Did you try price guarantee/adjustment?
I sent in a request and waiting for response.

Yes, they told me that because it was limited to two per customer, it was "limited quantities," which supposedly disqualifies it from price match. But that's ridiculous, as mentioned above, because a reasonable interpretation is that the competitor is only offering 500 at this price, because consumers aren't volume purchasers and wouldn't need more than one or two. So this is definitely loss of respect for Best Buy.

Let me know if you have any success.

Not likely since the 3000 series XT didn’t drop the price of the non XT by much.
Some people just don't get that online forum posts shouldn't always be taken seriously.

BB also lowered their price to $609.98, so they had no issue to refund the difference.
