[Newegg] ASRock B450M PRO4 AM4 AMD B450 SATA 6Gb/s Micro ATX AMD Motherboard $94.99 after mail in rebate

This looks like a pretty basic motherboard that's about 1.5 yrs old since release. But after rebate it's sub $100 with free shipping. Some notables for me,

- onboard USB-C port
- 2 x M.2 sockets

Any better alternatives in this price range?

I'm waiting for Black Friday pricing... lol but I'm looking at the B550 models instead...

I think it's a good price though.

OP, thanks for the post! On a related note, I've been burned so many times with MIRs (remember Tiger Direct anyone?) that I don't even consider the MIR in the deal anymore. If it actually happens, it's a bonus :)

I have this since June 2019, constant use, it's been solid. While today I would get a 5xx or even wait for 6xx chipset board (hoping there is actually a matx board that has it all this time), it's a good board for the price if you don't care about things like PCIe 4.

1. price is good, but I don't like rebates.
2. AMD releasing Ryzen 5000 series (ZEN3) CPU Nov 5, 2020 ... wait for stock and reviews before making decision.
3. These boards will work, but one time flashing and it'll be essentially locked to 5000 series - as I've heard

I have this board since Aug 2018, it's great, solid and I got it for 85$ after MIR at the time :)

The new AMD GPUs were announced today and claim to have the ability to share GPU and system memory similar to the PS5. However, I believe you'll need the 550 motherboards and the new 5000 series AMD CPUs to enable this. Not sure if b450 is still worth it if you plan to get a brand new AMD GPU

got the B450M more than 1 year ago for 3600. has been working well.

Just one thing to remind. This board doesn't include wifi. you need to buy wifi adapter separately.

Depends if you need PCIE 4.0.

Some Video Cards are PCIE 4.0 x 8 - (like rx 5500, 5600, 5700) and these will limit your performance to PCIE 3.0 x8 - which may cause stuttering with 4gb models.

Not sure with the new RX 6000 series or RTX 3000 series ...

oo thanks, i deleted my comment after I pulled the trigger since there is no going back at this point. i saved a $100 if I include the $25 rebate. I figured that GPU can't even tap the full potential of PCIE 3 yet so PCiE 4 won't make too much difference

Don't want to rain on any parades but I got the Pro4-F from Newegg (ordered 12 days ago, one-day sale) for $100, free ship, minus $20MIR. I hope it's as reliable as the posters above say this similar model is. I thought the price was well worth losing PCi-E4 for.
