[Newegg] ASRock Z390 Phantom Gaming 4S/AC OEM Socket 1151 EXPIRED

ASRock Z390 Phantom Gaming 4S/AC $69.99 (46% off) - $20 MIR = $49.99 (61.5% off total) for a decent socket 1151 motherboard. Yes I know the sockets getting old, but if any one has an old cpu that needed a motherboard or wanted a cheap backup this would be a great fix. Secondly I've received MIR before from ASRock in a timely fashion.

Can confirm. Bought an open box ASRock B450M motherboard from CC and I got my $30 rebate 2 months later, as predicted by the ASRock rebate webpage.

$7.99 shipping ruins it, otherwise great deal!

CPU compatibility list HERE.

Basically, 8th and 9th Gen; I do not consider those as old! Heck I'm still using 1366/X58 as my gaming rig. Grinning Face With Smiling Eyes

Nice, thanks OP. If you can find a deal on a CPU you could still make a pretty good rig around that.

Nice find but dang it's an ATX. I already bought an SFF case and bent on building/going small.

Your gaming rig is so old you could probably sell your motherboard to a collector.

Seriously thought, this chipset is way too old. I wouldn't buy unless you already had a CPU.

For an entire new build, just get an am4 300 or 400 series motherboard and whatever CPU you can afford.

It gives you the ability to put the top of the line 5600x in later

A z390 board but no usb 3.2 gen 2 to be found? This must've been a budget board from the get go. Good deal for those building a budget coffee lake machine... assuming there's anyone buying coffee lake still...

Usual rule with MIR is to put it in the title, not just the after rebate amount.

Yeah sorry didn't know the proper procedure. I must admit I kind of felt like I was committing one of those retro early 2000's scams when everything was a MIR, half of which never arrived. I will state that I've done a MIR with ASRock and didn't have to jump through any hoops except for mailing it to them in a timely fashion, to get my rebate.

Nice price if you are able to find a cheap CPU to go with it.

Though I believe even the low end Alder Lake CPUs can match/beat the high end CPUs from the 8th/9th generation. So it might be better to just go with a current gen low end processor vs and older platform.

Edit: found a review of the i3-12100 vs i9-9900k

I5 9600k used in Toronto on Kijiji for $100. If its still available that's pretty solid.
