No webcam. I guess it’s trying to show off its “pure gaming essence“ Lol

I got a similar rog strix scar laptop, 17inch open box From BB for this price. But different components, i7-12700H and rtx 3060 with 1TB ssd. But ya no webcam, kind of odd and I use discord when I game so definitely not sure I'm going to keep it. Model is G733ZM-BB71-CB

I never used Webcam before, and I noticed most of 2021 models have no Webcam as well, kinda odd to be honest. Anyway, are going to return it or sell it?

I would get a 3070 laptop if you want to game at that price

Also shell out $100 and get 32gb of ram. 16gb isn't enough.

Was on the eye out for a new laptop this week, was debating between a gaming laptop (Lenovo 5i, Asus ROG, Acer Nitro) and a thin and light (Dell XPS, LG Gram, Asus Vivobook).

Went to Best Buy / Memory Express to try a bunch out and really liked how the LG Gram felt/looked. Ended up getting a refurbished one from newegg for ~$800:

https://www.newegg.ca/lg-17z95p-mainstr ... HJZJJB0613

I think if I could've scored something with a 3060 for ~$1000 or 3070 for ~$1200 I would've gone with the gaming laptop, but will keep an eye out if something pops up over the next few months!

Some others that caught my eye:

Used G14 Zephyrus - 5800HS / 16gb Ram / 1 TB SSD / 1650 for $930
https://www.amazon.ca/Zephyrus-NVIDIA%C ... 149&sr=8-3

New ASUS TUF - 12650H / 16gb Ram / 1 TB SSD / 3060 for $1408
https://www.amazon.ca/IPS-Type-Display- ... 81&sr=8-16

New Asus TUF - 12650H / 16gb Ram / 512 GB SSD / 3070 for $1600

I'm probably going to return it since it's within the 30 days. It's a great laptop but I want a webcam, maybe better screen and not a single stick of ram. I'd sell it for cost if someone wanted it

I think for now only that Aorus gaming laptop can get us 3070 for this price.

3070 is below 6800 in performance. Check it online.
Does this laptop have MUX switch?

Even if the 6800 has a ever so slightly higher bench in some games

The 3070 has dlss which will make it vastly superior in every game that supports it

Like, we're talking a 100% improvement in framerate in some cases

You can also get these two for less, which might just be better in everyway. I believe the the 12500h G series laptop has a MUX and the other doesn't.

The 12500h one is much faster than the 5600h / 5800h / 5900hx , but likely has a worse battery life.
The 3060's should both be 130w.

Edit: Screens are worse at 144hz, but you're likely not running 300fps in anything without DLSS or something not intense.

Trash Deals. No offence, but absolutely some offence. Asus Tuf Dash have terrible cooling and a 250nit brightness panel that's dim at max brightness but gives you all the fun parts of ips glow as it tries its hardest.

All 3060 laptops are essentially overpriced at price/performance so there just grab the cheapest possible. 3070 laptops actually can offer value if you want gaming performance cause actual pricing should be like 900$ for 3060 and 1200-1400$ for 3070 laptops if we go off perf.

The laptop in the post is probably what I'd recommend with a 6800m being about equivalent with a 3070 unless you want raytracing (but even then you'll likely manage pretty low fps in many games on these laptop gpus with RT) & 1500$ is pretty solid pricing for a good chassis with hotswap ram + ssd slot (apparently wifi card issues tho).

Staying in the 3070 range try finding this 12700h (6+8) 3070 laptop from Gigabyte. Currently 1479$, was once somewhere in the 1300$ range on either BF or Boxing Day.
https://www.newegg.ca/p/N82E16834233550 ... 6834233550

If you're willing to risk used the best deal I found is this 1600$ Gigabyte laptop with 12700h, 3070ti (apparently 10-20% perf increase), 1440p165hz screen & SSD 1tb from 512 for earlier mentioned models.
https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/ ... aming.html

In my conclusion a 3060 laptop (especially with the gimped i7, ESPECIALLY in the gimped DASH) for 1400$ is vile and the 200$ extra you would have spent for a 3070 would be worth it (albeit still dash so eeeh). If you're hardstuck asus tuf there's a 6800h 3070 for 1500$ (was more compelling at 1400$ before this week) https://www.canadacomputers.com/product ... _id=223121

Bought this laptop from Amazon 3 weeks ago. It was shutting down during the 3dmark Time Spy benchmark from day 1. Initially decided to get a refund, but later gave Amazon a chance to replace it. 2nd laptop runs flawlessly, 11403 in time spy OOB, all major games on ultra in FHD. Spent extra $300 for 2tb ssd & 32gb of ram. Battery life for non-gaming usage up to 9 hours.

For those of you comparing this to laptops with a 3060 , you have no idea about specs whatsoever. This gpu is comparable to a 3080 , but that being said it is within 1% difference. It is better than a mobile 3070 with only 8gb of vram. Ram can be upgraded.

DLSS is fine , but once again you guys don't realize that this display is 1080p and the card is pretty powerful.

Would take this over any 3070 laptop but would struggle to find any 3080 laptop within that price and wouldn't be worth the extra 600 $ for a 3080, potentially more for a 3080 12gb version.

As someone who has had this laptop, I would buy with caution. If you end up with an early production model, re: serial number starting with M1 to MA (2021 Jan-2021 Oct build), it is plagued with issue which should be addressed by serial numbers starting with MB (2021 Nov build) or N# (2022 builds). This CPU/GPU combo runs hot, like really hot, 90+C hot when gaming and 50+C doing everyday tasks in windows, so keep in mind the fan noise when gaming. Also despite what it says on Asus's own website and every other resellers lists, the 300Hz screen version comes with 5980HX CPU, NOT a 5900HX so u get a slight bonus there, or maybe its only the canadian market that gets the 5980HX CPU instead. On paper the CPU+GPU benchmark is a beast, but real world performance is the opposite. Sure it gets u high frames, but there are micro stutters here and there which is annoying, maybe its the crappy drivers that AMD puts out. Also keep in mind the $1499 price and adding around $100-$150 for 1Rx8 or 2Rx8 ram to get an extra 10-20% performance. A lot of ram manufactures have moved on to making higher density ram modules so Asus had to put in higher density 1Rx16 ram which will cost you the 10-20% performance I've mentioned. I tried this laptop for about 3 weeks and decided to return it back to amazon and got myself a Lenovo Legion 5 Pro 12700H+3070 combo instead for just slightly more money. My laptop now runs a lot smoother, cooler between 40-80*C, higher resolution but lower response screen, and a LOT better build quality.

Same price on Amazon:
https://www.amazon.ca/Advantage-Gaming- ... C99&sr=8-5

Tough pick between this and other 3060 laptops at the same price.

6800m has much faster rasterization while 3060 has NVIDIA perks including DLSS and superior ray tracing, even though ray tracing in this price segment is rather underwhelming.

I'd likely lean towards the 6800m, however if you play DLSS games and ray tracing titles then 3060 will be a better pick.

I posted same price on Amazon on the first line as well. But thank you for putting on the link and the input.
