Pretty hot deal for 120GB SSD. Lowest I've seen.

Only issue is it'll ship from China, but there won't be any customs. Just need to wait longer.

Shipped & sold by a 3rd party, so NewEgg provides no support - this is no different than buying from eBay, actually you even have less buyer protection than eBay.

Kingdian drives get pretty terrible reviews overall too, it's worth paying a $10 premium for a cheap Kingston SSD from Amazon or CC/ME.

I would say that this is usually not a deal because qualitywise Kindian has the bad track record in the past and would recommend buy other brand with little more money. But due to Covid-19, PC components prices seem be to much higher ( more demand from people staying home and less supply from broken supply chain) including SSD so I would say this is, in fact, a deal, only if this arrives in advertised time frame 7 - 17 days. (which I think could be highly unlikely due to Covid-19.) Plus, the price on Newegg seems to be about $3-4 cheaper than buying from ebay or aliexpress.

absolutely, it wouldn't be a deal normally.

i've been searching for a budget 120gb for awhile now, and its not gonna go back to the sub $30 level now that CAD is .65 to USD and with the parts shortage will be even worse.

a kingston a400 120gb is now $40, just shows how much prices had inflated already

Msata if you have an old laptop that uses it is hot at that price. When I was hunting last year, a 120gb Msata ssd was $100+..so I ended up getting an ssd adapter tray for my Rom drive and have my laptop boot off of that.. 256gb for $40 at the time. Worked out well.

You could buy an msata enclosure and turn this into a USB stick I suppose.

I bought a Kingdian once. Slower than a 5400rpm HDD. Not worth it.

At least the msata has DDR3 cache. I'd avoid the SATA, though since it's probably cacheless. When I bought Kingidian drives a long time ago they actually had DDR3 cache and were the same price as now, but then they changed the product description on their Aliexpress sales to not mention cache anymore and now it's a crap shoot whether you get cache or not.

If anyone did order this and is willing to open it up, please post a picture of what's inside.

I'm still waiting for China sourced stuff that was shipped at the end of January and another from March. So hope you are not in a hurry.
