Ugh... USB 2.0... that's like filling a tanker with a thimble...

This review is from: SanDisk Cruzer CZ36 128GB USB 2.0 Flash Drive- SDCZ36-128G-B35 (Personal Computers)
Provides the storage specified but EXTREMELY slowly. USB Flash Benchmark tool showed 10.25 MB/s reads and 3.7 MB/s write speeds consistent across a variety of file sizes. Compare to my PNY Turbo 128 USB 3.0 (plugged into a 2.0 port) which costs a couple of dollars more (I paid 28 for the Cruzer and 31 for the Turbo) which does 26 MB/s reads and 22 MB/s writes. (As a side note, on USB 3.0, the Turbo gets 152 MB/s reads and 94 MB/s writes).

Unless it were less than 20$, it's not worth it. You'll never be able to effectively use all 128GB. Save your money and buy a 64GB USB 3.0 that has a reasonable write speed...

Thanks apf, I dodged a bullet here. Indeed, 128GB is as large as my previous SSD. At 10 MB/s it would take more than 5 hours to fill...

LMAO, thanked!

Actually there's a couple of uses for this AS LONG AS YOU DON'T TRANSFER FILES IN N OUT!

1. Pictures. Store n forget n add along.

2. Ebooks. Again, add...

Don't even dream of adding large video files. Read the :arrowu: thimble.

BTW, Sandisk is quite durable..

You have to wonder why Sandisk would even have made this in an USB 2.0 version when it's bound to lead to customer dissatisfaction.

They have to get rid of their older crappy left over NAND that's not good enough to properly sustain speeds needed for USB 3.0
