[Newegg] CyberPower CP1500PFCLCD - PFC Pure Sinewave UPS

Pure sine wave, okay for electronic. I bought one 3 month ago, very satisfied. Intuitive lcd screen indicates Watts (among other things) being used that are plugged-in.

Link takes me to a TV. BTW, I bought that UPS in Nov, it still smells today. Has "that China smell", ie: smells like a chemical factory...enough to make you puke.

You have to click the UPS at the top of the page but this is a better link

My 1000VA of the same model doesn't have a weird smell.

Odd, I bought this in the sale at Amazon back in late 2015 and it had no smell neither.

That's too bad, hagbard. Can you return? Should be a warranty issue. No odour from mine. Where did you purchase?

Amazon.ca last november. It has that typical made in China smell, a really strong variety of it. Don't know how else to describe it, I've come across it at least three times. Couldn't be in the room with it for the first month. Now it has "that new car smell" when you get close to it. I'm apparently not the only one, do a search on the Newegg reviews "smell" and you'll find others.

When you smell that smell are you sure that the unit's battery is not leaking?
Could be an issue that you should look into getting replaced.

No. Not an unfamiliar smell. Especially check the reviews for the 1350va version, search on "smell".
