Really good price for a really good psu. This is the 3rd psu thread I've seen tonight lol.

I looked up the invoice from my current PSU. $159.99 for a Corsair HX 750 back in 2009.

Guess it's time for a new one. This is a steal for a PSU that will probably last me as long.

don't know why I bought a psu but may need to upgrade my old system some point when graphics drop down so might as well have something sitting.

An old system may only have a regular Bronze PSU so even upgrading it now could give you minor-modest benefits in reduced power consumption, noise and heat.

Damn, I wish I needed one. Hard to go wrong at that price.

True good point. Old 750 bronze from 2013 should def see some improvements from the switch

Is it worth buying now if I plan to use it in a new build 1-2 years from now?

Hard question to answer. You would have to test it to make sure it worked... No one knows how powerful the next generation of GPU may be... Likely you could power a mid tier 40 series card with 750w.

Man I'm still going strong on a Corsair HX750 that's lasted me almost twice its 7 year warranty.

Still, I would have jumped on a platinum fanless for this price when I built my PC a few years back.

.... Anyone upgrading their already working PSU 80+ psu is just wasting their money.

This is akin to buying a gas stove so save operating costs.

Unless you're running your pc full tilt, you're not going to see any savings going from bronze to plat

The only improvement is less money in your bank account

What? It costs more to run 750 plat than bronze? Not sure what you mean.

regardless of how efficient this is, you'll never break even buying a platinum if you already have bronze. Save you money.

As for buying it now for 1-2 years from now lol. No. The GPUs coming out are using more and more power. That's why you keep seeing under 850 watters being dumped on the market. The 3090Ti is rumored to need 1000watt PSU. Possibly even higher since Nvidia seems reluctant to bring it out to the market. Not even a 850Watter will do.

Means upfront cost for this which is unnecessary
