Not a bad price OP for the configuration. Apparently, the people in this thread haven't build a pc in the last 12 months... or ever.

I don't know why so many people are crapping on this post. Sure, it's a bit over priced compared to the lowest market price (We don't own time machines, sorry); however, given the pricing increase and availability decrease crypto has caused on gtx cards, it will be tough to beat prices like this.

Based on a quick ca.pcpartpicker build (https://ca.pcpartpicker.com/list/hkCVYT), a pc with similar specs (Minus the 16gb Optane, Optical drive, and peripherals) at the lowest listed price per part would run you around $1800 before tax. If someone is looking for an already assembled PC that's ready to go out of the box with warranty, this pricing at THIS MOMENT in time is not unreasonable.

Good find OP and thanks for sharing.

In the last couple months there's been numerous PC's listed at around 40% off with high end GTX cards and Intel processors.
It's not that the op's deal is bad, it's that there is large potential for this PC or similar spec'd PC to all of a sudden be 40% off.
Maybe we've just done a bit more homework... and it doesn't look like ANYONE is crapping on the thread.

Might as well hold off until full meltdown and spectre is addressed at hardware level.

What are you even talking about?

1080 -> $1K unless you were building last month... because you weren't building last month because you couldn't buy a graphics card last month
8700 -> $350
Mobo -> $200
16GB of dirt DDR4 RAM -> $200 off kijiji?
2TB HDD -> $75
Mouse and KB -> $100? if you don't like beige
case -> $0 because you used your old one
PS -> $0 if found under a park bench
Optane thing -> $0 cause I don't need it
Optical drive -> $0 cause I stole it at a dinner party
Windows -> $0 cause I know a student

You're right, I beat OP's build by > $20. Just had to wait for the entire crypto market to evaporate.

Add on the 16GB Optane:

...and it's over the OP's price of 1,969.99.
Haha, that's not a bad price for RAM! Beat my estimate.

I remember building in 2012. Got 16GB of mid-tier DDR3 for $75 on boxing day. I was over the moon. This market is downright depressing.

He's talking about the pre-built systems from Dell, Newegg, Walmart and other Vendors.
Plus you could've gotten this exact PC for 20% less than the current price on the ebay 20% off everything promo through the ebay Newegg store.
He probably is on RFD way more than you to see the deals...

20% off ebay coupon had a max discount that would have amounted to less off than OP's deal. I know because I maxed it out on HGST HDD's... Which I knew about because I'm always lurking... on my 2012 desktop that desperately needs an update...

You are correct that the Dell deal was a thing but it wasn't better. For the pricing that we're under, it was comparable at best and depending on what the person wants to buy, perhaps insufficient. And after all that, you own a Dell...

I need to replace my again 2600k/gtx970 combo. I wanted to get an 9700 based PC to replace it, and would of considered this, but now I find myself waiting out the spectre/meltdown thing in hopes the release new cpu's in the next year or two that aren't vulnerable.

I built a pretty decently spec'd PC this past week and I for sure do not think this is even a warm deal. Sorry don't mean to shit on your post OP but I have to give my honest opinion.
This is actually a hot deal. Care to list what PC you built with what specs and the price? do remember that 1080 gtx is half the cost of this deal alone.
