[Newegg] LG 27UK500-B 27 inch 4K IPS monitor $309 after promo and shipping

$329.99 before $30 promo code SAVEEGGBX93.

Add $9.99 shipping.

$309 seems reasonable for an entry level 4K IPS monitor. Cheaper ones look to be TN.

Deleted link due to site issue. Search for this model for the deal. Sorry for the confusion. Edit: added link. Thanks to fellow RFD members.

Is it worth it to go up to an 28 inch Asus TUF VG289Q?

Isn't all 28 TN panels? 32 inch is around 409 if I remember right. Pretty cheap now.

No, Lenovo offers a good 28” 4K IPS product.

Whenever I read these threads I think to myself “Ya! Why would I get some garbage TN panel?” Then I go back to my 2008 Samsung 22” 720p monitor (my laptop is 4k at least)

12% cashback at Rakuten makes it even sweeter.
+1 on the Lenovo model. I have the S28u-10 which is the same screen but branded with ThinkVision. The panel's a great, no-frills IPS screen. Good colour gamut, acceptable brightness, and a pretty nice design. The stand is VERY basic (no height adjust), so you should assume that you're going to VESA mount it though - I never took it out of the box.

"No time machine" caveat but I bought mine at $350ish tax included with $40-50 Rakuten back. If you watch out for this the price goes up and down regularly.

Does your computer need a video card to output at 4k?

It depends on what hardware you have.

INTEL
For 4K video support, you need:
3rd Generation Intel® Core™ Processor or higher with Intel® HD Graphics and the latest Intel® HD Graphics driver.
High-speed HDMI cable. Standard-speed HDMI cables won't support 4K.
Intel® Pentium® and Intel® Celeron® Processors do not support 4K video.

ADM
You need a gpu for any ryzen cpu, unless it is a G processor.
