Play games in Vivid mode or 100 OLED light then, yeah, you're asking for it....
Bingo. Only an idiot would do that.

One of the most common burn-in scenarios on these LG OLEDs is the LG logo itself, which is bizarre if you ask me. A friend of mine bought a unit like this through a distributor who apparently gets Best Buy returns that can't be re-sold. TV has less than a hundred hours (according to the TV info panel) but it has a prominent LG logo burned in along with some other wavy lines....how the hell did that happen? Anyway, he got his 55" for under $1000 and loves it...only shows up against red/purple/yellow backgrounds.

Shiet... I definitely don't need it, but I want it... should I pull the trigger?

Is this TV worth it?
Yes the TV is incredible.

I'm not sure I would buy such an expensive item from that kind of seller though..

Wrong!

RTINGS show that an OLED get burn in quite fast with specific game UI. Less than 300 hours.

However the two LCD VA panel or IPS are extremely resistant. In fact the IPS screen is just starting to get faint burn in after 3000 hours. It's still quite minor compared to OLED.

OLED after 3000 hours:

I am WELL aware of the 6 people who keep whining on AVS. Fortunately the VAST majority of people are smart enough to never get BI and even LCD can get BI if you're non-evolved enough to figure out how to not abuse a set.
Anyways no LED will ever come close to OLED so grab this deal or wait for a couple weeks fro the 8 series.

Lol

THE VAST MAJORITY of TV buyer are not tech geek that understand OLED technology in depth. They are soccer mom and BBQ dad.

It's normal people with absolutely no idea of burn in or what they can do to reduce the risk.

OLED is the best technology for image technology but stop spreading false claim.

Lol one would have to work ridiculously hard to get ANY burn in and THAT is the truth. 10s of thousands have no isdues so IF 100 got it, including the Sansung shills, its their owb damned fault.
I certainly won't insult soccer moms or BBQ dads BUT they tend to buy inferiors LCDs. ..

[..] Good luck telling soccer mom that if she watch CNN for 2 hours a day she'll get burn in in one year.

What's being smart or non-evolved have anything to do with your TV producing burn in or not? [..]

It is not necessary a design flaw more then it is a limit of the technology.

Rumor for the 2018 OLED, based on scientific paper released by LG claim that burn in should be reduce by at least 60% on the next gen front facing white sub-pixel technology. The sub-pixel will burn at the same rate but because they are not blinded by the color filter will be able to run at a much lower voltage, thus reducing burn rate.

Well since it doesn't "produce" burn in under typical conditions there goes that argument. If one abuses the set there's that risk but that risk exists with every TV. I've had OLED since it came out and Kuro before that and being of sound mind and sturdy stock have never had a hint of burn in and neither do or did the other tens and hundreds of thousands of owners of plasma and OLED. Therefore the ones that get burn in need to look in the mirror.
No wonder it's not covered by any manufacturers warranty.

I would get this one instead: Sony XBR65X900E 65-in from Costco. Only $210 more, but get flawless Costco returns

Unless you are dead set on OLED of course
