This is good for those who aren't specific about their PC parts ie. as long as it runs decent which it will. I'm sure the more enthusiast would rather spend $200 or more for a much faster one.

Just to provide some perspective and options for anyone looking at this out there, there's the Dell G3 @ Microsoft going for $899 which has a GTX 1050ti (much better than this card) and was on sale for $800 last year.

You're right the actual performance is not as big a difference as I'd assumed, but the extra 2GB VRAM does make a difference in some applications.

For example, the 4GB VRAM is the difference from playing Gears of War 4 in High settings @ over 60+ fps

vs Medium settings @ under 60fps (GTX 1050 2GB)

1050 mobile, January 2017... 2+ years

https://videocardz.com/nvidia/geforce-1 ... -gtx-1050m
They mentioned CPU, why did you respond with GPU information?

Plus you mentioned 3 year old GPU and 3 year old CPU. Can you show us this info? I'm failing to see how it's 3 years old. Seriously need a downvote button again to get misleading information out of the way and people off their high horse.

At some point I was watching this configuration (i5 8th gen, 1050) and it believe I saw it once or twice this year down to $750. So this is not that bad of a deal, it gets down to $800 maybe once every 4 - 6 weeks. Certainly not deserving the downvotes.
It's not a great gaming PC, but as someone else was saying, many PCs are at that price even without a gaming video card, a back-lit keyboard, 1080p screen and not bottom of the barrel build quality. At $700 it would be an instant buy for me.

Judging by your spelling and grammar, I put zero stake in your comment. You literally are spelling as if you're super intoxicated and English is a third language for you.

I've had numerous MSI video cards over the years. When one failed, MSI shipped a replacement with zero questions asked.

Lay off the sauce @cayolargo ...
And if English would be my third language, what is the problem?is here a rule where English must be first language?People should connect the brain before talk or post

The GeForce GTX 1050 Ti Mobile is a graphics card by NVIDIA, launched in January 2017.

You keep talking like a used car salesman trying to convince people a 2 year old car is worth 5% less than a new model.

It's not your fault. You don't know what things are worth or what the performance is for newer hardware.
%5? you mean new models of this laptop is $842?

currently amazon canada is selling it for CDN$ 1,072.79... if it does not worth 799, then amazon is really stupid trying to sell it for 1072 :)

give me the link of a new model, with new CPU/GPU + optional SSD under $900 and I am convinced...
with 256 GB SSD + 1050 ti + i7 starts with $1350+...

Are you saying, $550 is ok for those upgrades? i7 instead of i5, 256GB SSD instead of 1TB Hybrid, GTX 1050 ti instead of GTX 1050

of course I would buy the new model if it is at that price LOL...

This is a great deal.

All the people saying its old and what not, show me a scenario where a newer graphics and cpu for twice the price but same performace does any better at anything than this. It's not like its a 6th generation processor and you need cutting edge technology and in that case, you wouldn't even be looking at a budget laptop. Processing power is power, it doesn't matter as long as it does the job. This is entry level gaming for a budget laptop price.

I found this video...

it shows how to replace HDD with SSD, add / replace memory...
also it has M2 slots if you want to keep 1TB HDD as a second storage and use M2/Optane slot for primary storage...
except removing the back cover, it looks very easy to replace parts... not like Dell laptops, which you remove almost everything to replace anything

if you look at other places, min price is $1039.99 for this laptop...

I got this for my 8 years old kid, and he mainly plays roblox / minecraft / terreria and some low end steam games...
it runs quite, not so hot, 6 Cell battery, sound is nice...
So? That doesn’t mean it’s a good value at all.

This laptop is only worth $600 at the absolute most, but I wouldn't pay more than $500. It's a very old graphics card and CPU.

AMD releases their 3000 series CPU's next month, their APU will equal this.
Nonsense. Where is that downvote button?

Post something better or STFU
