This seems like a good deal? Other kits are close to 200$.

Whats the downside and how come it's not already OOS?

Just an FYI, I picked one of these and it would not work at anything over 2400, with my Ryzen + B450M Mobo, using the XMP settings. Didn't play around with them much and got the GSkill Ripjaws 3200Mhz for ~$150. They work OOB.

I honestly have yet to try them myself, but snagged it for my Ryzen/B450 setup and will give it a shot. I think it's a pretty decent deal for DDR4 3000 RAM and provided you update your BIOS to the latest version offered by your MB vendor, it should take it up to 3000 without issue with XMP.

Did you update the BIOS before giving up?

Yup was on latest BIOS. Though I didn't bother much as I found that RAM on discount and stability was more of my concern, than overclocking or tweaking.

I would imagine that people are more likely to prefer running 3000mhz @ 15-17-17-35 timings over 3000mhz @ 16-18-18-38 timings. The former kit (Corsair vengeance lpx) was on sale for $150 over black Friday, and again during boxing day sales for $160. People probably bought the Corsair stuff over this.

Very good deal for the price of speed at 3000. For Intel platform , it is 100% no problem with the XMP. For Ryzen, I will recommend to buy 3200MHz version instead.

I bought these on black friday for $140 and the heatspreader is two very thin pieces of metal and one was coming off, so I had to glue it together. Otherwise, no problem for me in a Ryzen 2600 system.

Different kit but i got 3200 to post on my teamgroup ram. Pretty sure they aren't samsung bdie too. Xmp profiles are pretty hit and miss on ryzen. Might wanna just set everything manually. I just followed the timing and it posted 3200 for me.

you got 3200 on this 3000 ram or you got another teamgroup kit?

i am pretty sure at this price they are not samsung bdie - probably micron or hynix instead

depends on your motherboard because normally vendors list compatible ram in their qvl lists and this one probably wasn't listed for yours

my experience is opposite: it works great at 3000 after enabling XMP profile in BIOS. Asrock B450M Pro4 mobo + Ryzen 5 2600
