Is this eligible for the Civ 6 promo?

Been looking for a good value, but reliable card for a while since I rarely upgrade. I only do casual gaming and this card is mainly for Witcher 3 once in a while.

Should I be concerned about the reliability of Powercolor? Some of the reviews on Newegg are giving me pause.

Got mine for 320 before tax after rebate in September. This is a good deal. Just don't overclock it to the max because there's some components in this card that can't handle really high temperatures or something. There's YouTube videos about it.

All my older games play at 144hz on this card on ultra settings and even newer titles like Mankind divided I put on 1080p low settings and get 100fps average. Dishonored 2 I got about 80fps on medium and that game is optimized horribly lol.

Decent price for that card.
Powercolor have no presence in Canada so you need to send your card to the US if you need service.

Yeah I'm holding off upgrading my FX6100 because of Zen, but need a new video card now LOL. Have to decide if I want this or the MSI 4Gb for hte same price. MSI is better made and has Civ 6, this has 8GB (which I don't think matters for 1080P gaming much anyways).

Sigh.

I don't believe Vega will compete with the Rx 480 directly. We will see though. I have a feeling the RX 500 series will contain Vega only for the flagship and then they'll utilize Polaris 11 for the mid range. most likely an incremental step up from the Polaris 10 Rx 480. In my opinion if you want something now don't wait. You can always sell your card and get something better if the jump in performance is that big.

If you can find a 4gb Rx 480 for a good price they are also a good option. After doing an overclock session with my MSI Gaming X RX 480 4gb yesterday I was able to hit 1400/1900mhz. It now outperforms an 8gb card in games that don't require over 4gb and even in some that do.

I run at 1440p 60hz with ultra settings in titanfall 2, battlefield 1, Doom with vsycn on. Unigine Valley default settings 1080p score is 4150.

Rx 480 4Gb for < $250 is a better price/performance card than an 8gb for $300. There's only a couple fps difference between the two at stock speeds.

Any mother board with a pcie 2.0/3.0 slot. Literally thousands of board will support it.

I have 5 Powercolor cards (7970 7950) for crypt coin mining 24/7 for almost 4 years, (touch wood) they are still working

I thought the power cooler had the ?? vrms for the 480 red devil. Means no overclock right? don't use modded bios and keep at stock speed?

Seems like the 2nd deal on certain 480's. The xfx with reference board and this. Pattern?

Yeah this is what I talked about earlier. If you aren't into overclocking, the card is fine. Under no circumstances should you overclock it.

You have to worry about compatibility with your case. Make sure it's big enough and lots of airflow.
