[Newegg] PowerColor RED DRAGON Radeon RX 590 $290 + $8 shipping

I don't recall seeing an Rx 590 for less than $300, and this comes with The Division 2, Resident Evil 2 and Devil May Cry 5.
I ordered a card, I think I can make $100 by selling the games. I figure that a 590 for $230 tax in is decent.

I found an article from when they announced it that said it would end April 6th, so I guess it's over.

Can you share how you got the games? As someone said, it's not mentioned in the product page and it should have ended already.

This isn't really much of a deal.

AMD dropped the price of these cards to 220 after the GTX 1660 came out and for good reason.

Image

Even the cheapest GTX 1660 are 10% faster while using half the power.

Image

These RX 590 are simply refresh/rebranded/respinned polaris 10 cards and the overclocking headroom reflects this.

https://www.techpowerup.com/reviews/XFX ... oy/35.html

While both are overclocked the GTX 1660 is 20+ percent faster, as the GTX 1660 has significant headroom.

Respins are cheaper for AMD to make because the yields get better, meaning AMD can make more good chips on each wafer. What this means is these cards should be cheaper. Usually this is the case, as we have seen from previous respins.

e.g The 7970 was 550 USD(and didn't come with games) while the 280x which is the same chip/design was priced at $299 and came with 3 games as well as part of the never settle forever. Good ones too(bioshock infinite, crysis 3 and tomb raider)

Similarly the 7870 dropped from 350 dollars with no games to 199 dollars as the 270x(again coming with games).

The 290x started at 550 dollars(it came with games this time) to $399 but double the memory and games). In all these cases, the refreshes were faster while using the same or less power consumption.

Nvidia has done the same and more recently(gtx 680 $499 gtx 770 $399), has abandoned rebranding mostly altogether.

The RX 590 was a bad precedent for consumers because it was the first time AMD extracted the saving for profit for themselves and on top of this, raise the price of the card which should not happen because R and D has not really been spent, and has largely been recovered with the previous version of the cards.

Considering the GTX 1660 ti could be found at 330 dollars recently.

memory-express-evga-geforce-gtx-1660-ti ... #p30779418

and comes out 26% faster as seen below and 36% when both cards are overclocked.

while using 100w less power(which shows the rx 590 is really an overclocked rx 580).

AMD should choke on this anti consumer move of raising prices on old technology while saving money not making a new architecture. AMD needs to become the value player again for prices of videocards to fall. If AMD raises their prices to the same level(or in this case above) Nvidia prices, it simply causes Nvidia to raise their prices because they know their brand can carry it along with cards having better performance in reviews.

This card should be 180USD at this point because it's the 3rd version of the same card and it has been 3 years since the release of the RX480. The release price of 220 dollars is what the RX 590 should have launched at most(since the rx480 launched at 240). After the GtX 1660 and 1660 ti came out, these cards should have been 180usd. But AMD successful ANTI Nvidia/pro AMD have gotten people to buy worse cards for the same money while ironically supporting AMD's Anticonsumer prices. While Nvidia has to charge newer and higher prices to pay for R and D of a new architecture..AMD doesn't have an excuse since they have been rebranding left and right on top of moving almost all the GPU r and d to China.

AMD prices need to fall back to earth because if they keep on pricing their cards with the same prices as Nvidia, prices will continue to increase because Nvidia can always charge more than AMD which means continuously increasing prices. That is when Nvidia raises prices, AMD follows then rinse and repeat which leads to a never ending cycle of price increases.

All of AMD prices just matched Nvidia's. This includes Rx 460, 480, Vega(the same or worse), rx590(worse in this case) which is why pricing is so bad now. AMD needs to become the value player again because they are spending far less on R and D which is reflected in their cards and todays marketshare for them because they simply cannot charge the same price as Nvidia unless they want Nvidia to raise prices.

If people want these games, buy them as a bundle on ebay or through online seller for 50 to 60 dollars. Don't pay high prices for old technology that is near the same price as it was 3 years ago to support a price fixing cycle which is bad for all of us.

On closer inspection, the offered expired on April 6th.

https://www.amd.com/en/gaming/raise-the-game

And the web page for the bundle has been deleted. So how did the OP get the bundle?

Nvr mind, read OP's reply. But OP should change his post to reflect that their is no game bundle anymore.

This card at the same price as an gtx 1660 with no game bundle is simply terrible.
