[Newegg] SAMSUNG 860 EVO 1TB - $134.99 with Promo code CEMCGDFP22 w/ FS

I know @TE7 has mentioned this deal under the Amazon thread, I thought this deal is worth to open a new thread

This is the lowest price I have ever seen for this drive.

Use Promo code CEMCGDFP22 for additional 10% off, which bring it down to 134.99 + tax

I doubt that it will be even cheaper during Black Friday or boxing day

Samsung drives do run a premium. For good reason; they're super solid and durable.

However, WD Blue and Crucial drives are around 110 for the same storage, sore you're paying more for the name here.

1TB SSDs should have ample endurance on both the TLC memory and the controllers; I'd argue go for the above. Samsungs offerings are much better in the lower capacities like 250GB and a little less so in 500.

SATA for PS5?

Wouldn't recommend.

The PS5 uses a PCIE 4 NVME, much newer & faster tech than this SSD. The PS5's NVME is about 5500 MB/s. The 860 Evo is 550 MB/s...so 10 times faster.

He's talking about back compatible games. To move a ps4 game from external to internal or to play directly off said external. He's not talking about playing PS5 games on it.. A ssd on USB is already a difference maker...
