[Newegg] Samsung EVO 850 1Tb SATA- $374.99 + $5.99 shipping

This is a deal if you're looking specifically for this drive.

I think the lowest this has been was $399.99. This was back during Boxing Day and since then it's mostly been in the $450 price range with some dips to $405.

If you're not looking for this drive, there are other 1tb SSDs that are cheaper.

I got an email from eBay promoting this listing as one of "Today's Deals" and was considering posting a thread about it.

If someone is looking for a Samsung 1TB NOW and doesn't want to wait for Black Friday and SSD developments later in the year, it's a solid offering in the current CDN marketplace.

The recent Dell "Samsung 850 EVO M.2 3.5 inch - 500GB SSD $174.99" thread got some traction... but this deal in the standard form factor actually has the better $/GB ratio for users with more capacious needs.

Warranty from eBay item? Samsung would ask for a receipt which would only qualify authorized retailers...

That has no warranty?
Usually there is no warranty coverage from the manufacturer on items sold via ebay and similar sites. Sometimes the seller will provide their own coverage but that's usually in the form of a refund.

I thought they were not to be released until later this year, I guess not. That sticker price is out of my budget anyways. It will probably take a few years for those 2TB drives to come down to the 1TB pricing. My 1TB is only 1/2 full anyways so by the time I need extra space hopefully the 2TB drives will be a more affordable.
