I happened upon this "If you want a WiFi 6 router with similar features but don't need the gaming features, there's also a vanilla version available called the Archer AX90." so I guess the AX doesn't have those extra "gamer" features.

The new wireless cards that come in new laptops are gig+ and cost a whole $30. The Intel AX210 costs $34.50 at Mouser or $30 at Memory Express.

Meanwhile, 2.5gig ethernet hardware is significantly more.

Bandwidth is hardly an issue unless you're actually streaming the game (and even then...) problem with WiFi is mostly latency, and then possible package drops

Yep exactly. The problem with the GX90 is there's only one 2.5G port, which isn't super useful.

Very fast router nonetheless: https://aphnetworks.com/reviews/tp-link-archer-gx90/4

I posted it yesterday. The code is only valid yesterday.

It appears all Newegg’s promo codes are one day only.

I have been playing Xbox series X games online and Multiplayer online like R6 Siege etc. and can't tell any difference with wifi. Also Nvidia Shield TV with Geforce Now cloud streaming for more than a year. Runs pretty much like local. Although I had Internet 300 then 600mbps and upgraded to 1 Gig Fibre a few days ago. And still using a Netgear Nighthawk R7000 router.

Added promo code and it’s working today. Yesterday, the router showed $399, but back down to $299 today.
