I have this router, it sucks! Range is terrible, gets confused when more than 4 devices at same time are connected, needs rebooting a couple times a week. Get the C9 or even the C7 before this.

Really? Mine hasn't had any issues. When I got it they were $60 at Newegg plus shipping. I price matched at Staples (they added the Newegg shipping cost) but if I didn't like it I could return for full amount. 30 days I think.

Have you tried DD-WRT firmware on the C8? May fix your problems.

I'm running stock firmware FYI and still having great performance and no issues. But I agree, great option.

You might have a dud unit, mine's currently at 107 days uptime, probably would be longer if I had it on a UPS. C8 & C9 are nearly identical, the C9 just has a different Broadcom 5GHz radio that allows for faster speeds on AC, the CPU and everything else are the same (although clocked 200MHz higher on C9) so you won't see any differences in reliability or signal strength.

I am confused about the warranty as it ships in a white box that states 90 day warranty. TPLINK in response to email stated 90 day warranty so uncertain about Newegg warranty statement.

What would people recommend as an inexpensive wireless extender? Via ethernet, I don't want to go the powerline or wireless route. To be a good choice, it should have better than average wireless-ac range and support extender mode (non-OEM software like dd-wrt is fine). Thanks!
