[Newegg] USB 3.0 to SATA External Hard Drive Docking Station - $14.99

Interesting item I randomly saw on Newegg while browsing for parts.

Most of the reviews are actually surprisingly good for such a cheap product although there were a few exceptions where they encountered QC issues.

Might end up picking one up for myself for the convenience, but it's the first time I've seen a product like this to be honest so if anyone has experience with these please chime in.

Was watching this exact one on Amazon.ca where it's listed for $26.99
So this is a almost a half price and yes, Newegg - as always - overly inflates prices before puting stuff at "sale"...

However, it states max capacity of the HD Drive to up to 8GB... not nuff... no go..

This is perfect.
I'm getting the 6TB drive on sale for 99 at Canada computers right now
https://www.canadacomputers.com/product ... _id=121628
But the reviews say the drive is bottlenecked by a bad SATA enclosure and recommend pulling off the plastic and sticking the drive in another one.

If this dock works well I'll report back on speeds to compare.

Do canadacomputers sales have "not online" "store only" most of the time? Are they trying to drive traffic to their stores?
