[Newegg] ViewSonic Monitor VA2719-2K-SMHD $310.99 27-Inch WQHD 1440p (2560x1440p) IPS

I have been wanting to get a 2K monitor.

I think 32" would be too big for my desk so this thin bezel 27" one looks good.

Is $310.99 good for a 27" 2K monitor?

Let me know what you all think. Thanks.

While ViewSonic is a good brand, this monitor is a couple years old and technology has marched on. Where this has 5ms response with OD, this year's IPS are 1ms. This has 75hz refresh, this year's is 144. 300 nits, where newer ones are 350 or better, and so on.

It has also been on sale for under $300 close to two years ago, so it's really not a deal. To be fair though, you would pay $400 (not on sale) for the bumps up in all those areas I mentioned, so it's ultimately up to you if it's worth it. I'd say just wait for a sale on something newer.

Also, make sure you don't want a gsync or free-sync monitor. Otherwise lack of supporting them kills the deal.

Thanks, good points, I will consider them.

I am not looking for a gaming monitor, just a good 2560x1440p IPS to get more screen real estate.

I hope there will be some good prices for BF.

FWIW, this is the monitor I use now. I bought it from Amazon.ca July 2018 for $376 on sale, and it was a good deal at the time. Now it's $305 at Amazon. For me it's a great monitor and is more than high enough spec for my needs -- but I don't have a high-powered video card or play high-end games. As AncientWords said, specs improve every year. It's a matter of deciding what specs you really need, and then whether you're willing to pay more to get better. If this monitor meets the specs you want, it's a great choice vs. other brands with similar specs and price.

Yeah, i can't even image using a 32" monitor. I am using a 24" monitor now, which I guess is actually 23.6",

and my laptop is pushed over to the right plenty as it is right now with my laptop/monitor setup.

27" will be enough. I would actually buy a 24" 2560-×-1440, but I am not sure they make any of them.

I just checked. I am in Montreal and I got this message: :-(

Having a height-adjustable stand that rotates and high gamut are the features I look for. I don't care about response time, refresh, or sync (ie. gaming specs). Of course, high brightness is always good. Still waiting for the BenQ QHDs to drop in price :D .

With 32" IPS Freesync/75 Hz (as the LG above) at around $300, this should be at $250 or less to be a good deal.

This monitor goes on sale every few months to $300 or less. My friend bought his few months ago when it was $280 + tax. If you can wait, it will go down a bit - specially black Friday is little over a month away.

If you find a monitor with everything you want except a good stand, check and see if it's VESA mountable, and if so, you can put it on pretty much any stand you like. Maybe something like this, or maybe something bigger/better:

-or-

- etc.

I couldn't either until I bought the LG 850f 32" 1440p 144hz VA panel. It's beaaaaaaaautiful and I love the size.

With one extra year from Costco, and Costco warranty is pretty stellar.
