Unless you REALLY need it now, in that case get what you can afford

(Allegedly) NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070: up to 30% faster than RTX 3090 in gaming

If that's true than almost everyone would need to upgrade their PSU at the same time

Why?

More power doesn't automatically mean more wattage

Even if it's the same wattage as 3090, if you upgrade say from a 3070 to a 4070 you'd still need a bigger PSU unless your current one can already handle a 3090

GPUs are good for more than just bideo games.

If the new Nvidia cards are faster they'll just up the prices, because they can get away with it.

It's rumored that even the lowest end gpu's (RTX 4060 12GB / RX 7700 8GB) will perform just as good as a 3080 in rasterization and a 3090 in ray-tracing. Even if they cost $800 CAD they'd still be a better deal.

I’m being real, just wait for 40 series at this point. Upvoted cause I think this isn’t bad

For those advising to wait, majority of next-gen cards will be released next year with unknown prices and availability. Something to consider.

The 3000 series was suppose to be cheaper and better performing than the 2000 series but here we are.

Card is $999.99 so actually it's $1000 and with tax your looking at 1130ish so its a 1100 dollar card. I had this card a year ago and got it for less than $1000 tax included so its a little over $100.00 more than 2021. Traded it for my 6800XT best deal ever!

ppl will always compare these 3rd party cards to FE msrp prices not considering a) these cards will almost always have a better cooling solution than FE cards b) these cards are usually clocked higher than FE cards and c) FE cards are almost impossible to get and d) did i mention FE cards are almost impossible to get?

Something tells me the 4xxx cards will be insanely hard to get, good luck to all those waiting.

I have a 1660 that I overclock to 1660ti level. It runs game decent enough and VR reasonably well. But I want to get something a little more beefy. I paid like $325 for this card before the end times grudgingly because I've always been a cheap graphics card user playing games 2or 3 generations old.

What card should I shoot for in this market (or a predicted future market) with best value for dollar which is capable of handling decent VR quality settings? Price range under $550.
