Just found this on Newegg.ca. WD 4TB and 8TB external portable hard drive are being sold at $20 off current price which is already 35% discounted.
Could be good deal for those looking for external hard drives.

Mybook 8tb is 194.99 on ebay from Newegg , along with 8% eBay bucks if you received that promo.

Bestbuy also has the elements 8tb to 189.99. Both should be white drives.

I seem to recall seeing an external 4TB WD at Costco for $129.99 regular price.
Can anyone verify?

ON
Not even sorta hot for a few obvious reasons;
- 4tb external have been 129.99 forever (and that includes right now on amazon)
- You're also paying tax on the price before any coupon when you buy newegg, so you're worse off vs. if you buy a pre-discounted listing
bonus: Reload a new account balance for $100 before you purchase for another $10 off the amazon listings
bonus: ebates has 8% back on amazon right now, heck even ebay has targeted 8% bucks, and newegg puts it at $129.99 on their ebaystore

And I won't click the 8tb since I may freeze to death doing so, but let me leave newegg's ebay listing where the exact same model costs $194.99 , and that isn't even the best price for comparable models
Oops, and here's another comparable spec'd 4tb listing from newegg at $124.99

But even those prices aren't exactly a "hot deal", just a decent price if you need to buy now. A hot deal would be waiting for the sales from Staples and using a coupon on top. $25/TB is probably the highest anyone should want to pay

Can confirm this price. I recently was shopping for an external hard drive for my PlayStation 4 and strongly considered this one.

The 8TB elements in particular is a great buy. Has a white labelled Heliium RED drive which worth way more if you buy it directly. Unlike the SMR based Seagate 8TB the Red is great for NAS. (have a few running in my drobo)

Is the consensus that the Best Buy deal is good (hot)?

I’m in the market for an 8TB and RFD is my go-to for deals.

+1 for this question. I am in urgent need of storage (down to 200 GB) and would love to know if this is a historical low on the 8TB Elements.

No, the BB 8TB drive was on sale for $179.99 at Best Buy last December. That being said, it is still a good price for an 8TB white label Red drive.

Thanks. For $10, I'll bite.
