so troubled whether to wait for sn550 1 TB to be $100 or just get this at $140 - to be fair the price difference is half an hour of work but there is that satisfaction of getting a good deal

for my use I will rarely see a difference in performance, but there will be occasions

SN550 as a second ssd is very good, low heat than sn750

To those of you saying you might run into limiting situations with the 550 but question the 750. Having lived that life, I promise you that the 750 is a set it and forget it SSD. Performance is never an issue.

For your main computer it's a no brainer.

Income is just income, we all browse RFD for the purposes of enjoying savings, I don't think many of us browse because this is the only way we can afford things!

Alright I bit the bullet and got it, rather no regrets going to take a good amount of time before SSDs drop even further

If you find the 550 limiting, go with the 750.

How will you know? If you need to ask the question, then the 550 is probably fine.

Is the 750 worth getting without a heatsink? I only have the slot behind my motherboard available. For reference I have a MP600 under the active heatsink on my motherboard.

It comes with a thin metal heatsink and it's spec'ed to work out of the box with what it has.

If you plan to run it on a small server, get a replacement heatsink, otherwise don't worry.

Ordered this yesterday for 149.99 on Amazon yesterday. Thankfully it didn’t ship because of the holiday. I cancelled and ordered from Newegg

Don't buy an SSD with heatsink. Just use the built-in motherboard heatsink anyway, as a SSD with a heatsink won't fit anyway with motherboards with integrated M.2 heatsinks, And make sure there is airflow in your case and you will be fine.

This is a well rounded SSD, at this price, it's a no brainer if you want a good performing SSD with no obvious drawbacks.
