Newegg won't price match themselves

I recently bought a gaming laptop at Newegg. Within less than 12 hours after I placed the order, they began offering a promo code (0110CANHS05) for an additional $50 off. This happened before the laptop was shipped.

As this is a "Price Match Guaranteed" product, I submitted a price match request through the website as soon as I found out, but didn't get any response (didn't even get a no).
1.5 days later the laptop was shipped, I phoned them to price match, but it seems like they won't price match themselves....like wtf  .

The only option I have is to order another one and return the first one to get that $50 off. Face With Tears Of Joy

Would it even count as a price match if it's from themselves? I've been able to get a price adjustment on an unshipped item from Newegg by contacting customer service after the price dropped, but that was via customer service contact rather than pricematch.

This doesn't sound like a price match. It's more of a price protection thing.

If the price was a fair deal for you to buy, why would you expect them to give you a further discount if you found the earlier price to be a fair deal?

Hello,

First of all, sorry to bump an old thread but I wanted to share my experience here since this is one of the first match when searching for "newegg price drop after order". On 2018-12-25 I ordered a graphic card that was 24% off. On 2018-12-27, the price of this graphic card dropped to 30% off for a few hours (not entirely sure how long exactly, but maximum 6 hours). While it was lower, I contacted their customer service via their live chat and they issued a refund for the $40 difference no questions asked.

Today I've received a confirmation email:

I'm not sure if their policy changed since, but I was expecting my request to be declined after seeing that thread so I just wanted to post here in case someone else find this thread. Just to clarify, the item was not included in the "Price Match Guaranteed", was already on sale when I purchased, was shipped but not delivered and they issued a refund for the difference regardless.

Thanks for reading,

Jordan

Interesting. I just bought an SSD drive and haven't received it yet and it has gone even lower (by $20). Wonder how often that happens. I'm going to ask they refund the difference too!

Yep that was easy. $20 refunded just for asking and waiting 5 minutes for the process.

Amazon does the same thing. They try to say that I need to return the item and reorder. I told them that's stupid. After complaining a lot of about it they finally did give me the difference in price.
If they thumb you down I will up it just because
