2. Search for Toronto (YYZ) to Sydney (SYD) or Melbourne (MEL) roundtrip

3. Open up the price calendar by clicking on the departure date and look for date combinations listed for $1086

4. Google Flights will give you the option to book directly with United for $1086 or plug in the dates you found on Google Flights into Skyscanner to book with a third-party booking site for $978.

Wow, great deal. Too bad it's on United...

Swore I would not fly with United again after my last encounter. They changed my departure time/date WITHOUT asking, or even telling me -- and cancelled the 2nd leg of my flight, which would get me home.

Good deal, as low as it gets unless you go through Asia.
I''ve taken this flight couple of times. Upgraded to premium economy once but regular economy is fairly comfortable as well.
From YYZ to SF or LAX or IAH will be Air Canada and then United from there.
If going in the winter, recommend picking an earlier flight out of Toronto
