Japan Airlines and American Airlines have dropped the price on their Tokyo flights from Toronto down to only $670 CAD roundtrip including taxes.

Flights have 1 connection each way

BAGGAGE POLICY:

JAL/American fares include 2 checked bags.

AVAILABILITY:

September through February including New Years Eve travel

HOW TO SEARCH FOR DATES AND BOOK:

1. Go to Cheapoair

2. Search for Toronto (YYZ) to Tokyo (TYO) roundtrip

3. Use the following date combinations. These are not fixed dates. You can mix and match the departure/return dates or search for your own dates that fall on Monday through Thursdays.

Thanks, found tickets from Montreal to tokyo for around 750$. Dates were sept 1st to 10th

Because it wasn't obvious for me when I went, I'll put this out there: You will be expected to collect your luggage and go through customs/ and security all over again.
3 hours is enough, but ORD is massive, and lines can be super long.

Even some desirable winter break dates like Dec 26-Jan 8 are still available at $703 for up to 6 people!

Spent last New Year in Tokyo at the Scramble Crossing in Shibuya It was an absolute riot, followed up by Fukubukuro shopping 2 days later..
