FYI that's it's NOT unlimited, it's a 300GB/month plan. Which is semi decent, but heavy users could chew through that pretty quick.

I know there's no time machine but for people who want to know if it's the lowest it's ever been it is not. It has been $15 for 24 months with a 500GB/month cap (vs. 300GB/month cap here) and that one included the VPN unlike this one (VPN is probably pretty bad anyways). See the thread for that previous deal here (says NewsDemon but they are owned by the same person and price match each other).

That said, this is a good price if you are not a heavy user. I doubt the price will go back down to the previous low anywhere in the foreseeable future as storage prices are expensive right now due to crypto (according to the owner on Reddit).

Also consider price matching this plan with NewsDemon, though it would probably be almost the same right now but could change in the future and might be worth it as a backup. They are both backfilling from UsenetExpress but will each have their own independent storage for the first X amount of days. I would imagine NewsGroupDirect has more independent retention as of now as NewsDemon has fairly recently switched away from being a Highwinds reseller.

Any thoughts on easynews? Was going to go with them, but this looks good too.

It's asking for a full name and postal code. Kind of weird.

It did show 300 GB/month limit on the signup page. I signed up and it shows this in my dashboard:
"Usage: Excellent, you have UNLIMITED usage! You'll be billed again on 7/9/23."

Does anyone else see the same? I wonder if it's a glitch or the glitch was on the signup page.

EDIT: At the same time I see this: "Current Plan 300 GB Monthly 24 Months"

P.S. No info on the number of connections. The FAQ states "The number of connections allowed changes with each of the pricing plans that we offer. To upgrade to a higher plan you can simply login to our website." But the dashboard doesn't show this anywhere.

Is there a provider you'd recommend for someone new to this?

It saturated my gigabit connection. 100 connections with this plan.

Does unused quota roll over? Newshosting offered $20/yr unlimited during BF.
