Maybe I’m getting old, but lately Nike shoes look pretty goofy to me. I feel like I’m looking at the kids section most of the time.

Couldn't agree more. Adidas is wiping the floor with them. I used to be a loyalist, but Nike got way too complacent.

Often finding Adidas has better styles these days, of equal quality, for less $

...totally disagree, Nike styles are way better and more comfortable, ALSO their technology (infinity run) lasts way longer than boost and has more stability in general.

I've personally found that nike shoes are more friendly towards flat feet. Whereas Adidas run more narrower and it doesn't help
I have feet that are on the flatter side and also wide, people make fun of me because I often buy skechers but they're the only ones who offer wide versions of their shoes and fit just right for me.

New Balance sells different widths. NB is well known amongst runners.

Check out the Pegasus 37’s. I have a pair. 10x better than Ultraboosts. I don’t even want to wear my ultras now except if I’m standing around.

I read reviews saying peg 36 and 35 are better due to being less weight?

React foam is nice though.
