Note that you can't autofocus with this lens on entry level Nikon DSLRs (for anybody interested in buying it). Great little lens though.

It's not really 50%-off then. The savings is more like 18%.

My lady debated between this and the auto focus version for awhile. She eventually went with the auto focus version and we got it at a reasonably good deal of $199 at Future Shop just after the new year.

Don't really need a 50mm right now. But for those that are interested, $110 is a great price for this lens.
Yes - the 'reg' price is never at ~$220. It's less than $150 year round. But at this price, it's probably the lowest I seen for brand new.

Try and see if you can PM it with your local camera stores. So you can test it out and play with it before purchasing.

Depending on your camera body, this lens has autofocus. I have a D80 and the autofocus works great. It just don't have a built-in AF motor, so the body has to control the AF. Only certain higher-end Nikon bodies can do that.

Really? I never had a chance to use the 1.8G back when I shot with Nikon, but I loved the bokeh on my 1.8D.

Umm, they have it on sale right now for 109, which is what the OP is about. ;)

Very little difference between the 1.8D and 1.8G other than the focusing. If your camera can auto focus this lens its a great value. Super sharp and great in low light. If you need a good prime lens for portraits and that kind of thing you won't find anything better for near the price.

Although it should be noted - for full frame, this is a *tiny* bit wide for portraits.
