I usually compare the price of digital vs physical - 3/4 of the current trade in value.
Treat it as itune purchases and never trade in. The fact that I don't have to deal with physical media is worth the price.

Anything that gives me entertainment for less than $5/hr owes me nothing after I'm done with it.

I prefer digital as well since the Switch cartridges are so small, it’s easy for them to get lost. With digital, I won’t be able to trade them in but I don’t have to worry about losing a game worth $80 either. I do have a few physical games I got on sale, but I really keep on top of my kids to make sure they are accounted for.
