Speed is just fine.
So you find that the Ultra line works just fine then? The above poster @Skilas recommends the Extreme line.

According to some YT videos, they said the Switch is design for U1 and anything higher doesn't make a difference since the Switch can't go faster than U1?

No issues whatsoever.

Most people are concerned about space requirements for their online games really.

When you run out, you'll need to buy something bigger or swap out cards which will not be pleasant.

Even the official Nintendo SDcard is the same speed as this.
100 MB/sec read, -https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B07KXQX3S3?asc ... 08-20&th=1
Also 100 MB/sec - https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B074RN ... =UTF8&th=1

The write speeds are tested at around 60 MB/sec for both cards.

I ordered 3 of these titles from BB: Zelda Links Awakening remaster, Mario Maker 2, and Luigi's Mansion 3 (my youngest LOVES the Luigi' Mansion games). Even though all 3 were in one order, 2 were sent Canada Post and 1 via Purolator (I'd guess they came from 2 warehouses).

The 2 sent by Canada Post (Mario and Zelda) arrived within about 48 hours of ordering it.

Luigi's Mansion has a status of, basically, ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ from Purolator, over a week after ordering.

Well, the sale ends today, and Best Buy is out of stock, so even if they wanted to they can't replace the game anytime soon and instead will likely refund if everyone involved finally gives up on Purolator. So then I get my $49.99 plus tax back but the game will be $79.99 again... argh.

The Source had some online stock left earlier today (zero online stock at BB, EB, and WalMart) so I threw in some cheap batteries that we are out of anyway to get free shipping.

God I hope they don't send it Purolator.

Personally, I've never actually used the Ultra line on the Switch. That's mostly because I stopped using Ultra cards several years ago. Granted, Ultra cards are actually faster than they used to be.

I found the speed between Ultra and Extreme cards significant, but this was while using them on my mobile phone, computer, and cameras. To the point that I could not bother with using them anymore.

It's very possible that the Switch would not benefit for a higher card. But considering the Nintendo branded cards are Extreme equivalents, I would stay within that line. These days, the price is not a significant difference, and only getting cheaper.

EDIT
Nintendo branded cards:
Read: "Up to 100MB/s read speed"
Write: "Up to 90MB/s write speed"

Sandisk Ultra:
Read: "Up to 100MB/s read speed"
Write: "Write speed lower." (literal description from Amazon's page)

Here is a review of extreme vs extreme pro speed tests:

Here is review with the write speed being tested for the Ultra card
https://www.gsmarena.com/sandisk_ultra_ ... -30656.php
somewhere between 45 MB/sec and 68 MB/sec.

Yeah you're right about cost, it is around $30-40 more for the the 400 GB card in Sandisk extreme vs Ultra and if you're worried about speed you could buy your piece of mind :)

Yes, this makes sense. Speed differences on a computer, but as you said, likely no performance difference on the actual Switch. At this point, it's more personal preference. If a huge card is the priority, Ultra should be fine. Personally, I like the look of the Nintendo branded cards, and if I ever decided to not just use it on the Switch, I prefer the faster card.

Sorry, I can't help about xcom 2. But if you want a long game, I expect Fire Emblem: Three Houses is pretty long if you try to do everything. Personally, I love Fire Emblem games. I own Three Houses, but have not actually started it yet, because I can't bring myself to commit to the expected play time.

Oh, and Breath of the Wild can be very long, if you've never played it...

I just bought this the other day on sale for 82.99: https://www.amazon.ca/Samsung-Select-mi ... B0887CHVFF

Its a 512GB Samsung microSD

it seems to be working fine on my switch. I just migrated from my old 64GB microsd.

The description shows: Ultra Fast Read Write Speeds: Up to 100MB/S Read and 90MB/S Write Speeds; UHS Speed Class U3 and Speed Class 10 (Performance May Vary Based on Host Device

I didnt do a full test - but I did do some testing to make sure it wasn't fake.. I like this Samsung EVO Select line. I also bought a similar 256GB microSD from amazon about a year ago for my 3DS.. Been working fine there too.

That should be fine!

If you wanted to check if the card is fake or not, you can this tool
https://h2testw.en.lo4d.com/windows

It'll wipe your data on the card though.

Which tool did you end up using?

BTW, are these upgradable?
Based on the information I've gotten asking this (because honestly I haven't even really had a good dance session yet much less tried the Just Dance Unlimited), no. The short answer is no. JD 2020 will always be JD 2020 and when you pay for JD Unlimited you'll only be able to access up to the JD 2020 limit. Now that said I don't know how big that pool is it might be a ton of songs. I might be happy with paying a monthly fee to get that pool of songs.
