[Nintendo] Nintendo Digital Game Vouchers - Online members discount

Nintendo started a new promotion exclusive to Nintendo Online members, that give them two digital Nintendo titles valued at $79.99 each for a bundled price of $132.99 works out to $26.99 off. The vouchers are valid from 1 year of redeeming them, so don't bank up on a bunch of these. True its not a huge discount, but Nintendo titles don't receive huge discounts anyway and that amount does pay for your Nintendo Switch online right there. Plus if you're going digital already anyway and don't want to wait for a game sale (possible E3 promotion or Black Friday) this will save you a few $$ since digital titles usually don't have these discounts offered at launch in first place.

Here is the list of eligible titles for this promotion:

Note if you don't have a Nintendo Switch online membership but do have an Amazon Prime account or Twitch Prime account, they do offer a free 12 month Nintendo Switch online subscription through that service as well ( https://www.redflagdeals.com/deal/video ... zon-prime/ ) So be sure to take advantage of that before going in on this promotion.

It's kind of a paltry deal, but I guess better than most for Nintendo games.

I think you also still get gold coins/points back, so that's $6.65 or so. Buy the eshop amount through Costco or something to get another handful of dollars off and it's, well, a deal.

Really interesting as the bundle is 139$ with Alberta tax and 2 games are 165$ with Alberta tax

So you have 26$+ with Costco eshop deals

How does this work if we decide to not renew the NSO next year? Do we lose access to games redeemed through the voucher, similar to games with gold on xbox if we dont have live?

This is a discount, not a 'free' game tied to a subscription. You use the discount, then you're done.

Just like how PS Plus and XBLG get exclusive discounts

They are pretty much offering this deal for people to preorder Mario Maker 2. Each NSO member can buy 2 vouchers (for 4 games total). There is no indication that they will add games to the eligible list within the year that they are redeemable. Not bad if you are looking for 2 games right now.

Edit: Actually shows on the shop 3 additional future titles
Astral Chain (release 8/30/2019)
Fire Emblem: Three Houses (release 7/26/2019)
Marvel Ultimate Alliance3: The Black Order (release 7/19/2019)

Makes the deal a little better with the game selection.

Pro Tip: Costco.ca sells Nintendo eShop store credit for $20 or $99 at a 5% discount. If you're a Costco executive member you also get the additional 2% credit back.

Nintendo eShop $20 Digital Download Code for $18.99
Nintendo eShop $99 Digital Download Code for $93.99

You end up saving an additional $7 or so buying the eShop credit from Costco to redeem for these game vouchers. Smiling Face With Sunglasses

$20+$20+$99 = $139 eShop credit purchased
$18.99+$18.99+$93.99 = $131.97 actual cash spent
Difference: $139 - $131.97 = $7.03 saved

You can buy up to eight. Not sure if thats 8 vouchers or 8 pairs tho... Apparently they will be adding more titles as they are released tho. See my original post I updated it to include a list of frequently asked questions to Nintendo about the promotion.

Yeah. Nintendo games hold their value insanely well. I almost always go physical unless it is something I will replay to death (Monster Hunter).

I think it's eight vouchers, so 4 pairs. Couple that with the newegg 10% eshop cards deal a few days ago, and it's a decent bundle for new releases. Now to find some digital games that are certain keepers...

Thanks.

Just bought a pair for Fire Emblem and Astral Chain.

Will wait till E3 to see what else will be put up and will likely get another pair for Link's Awakening and whatever games appears at E3.
