[Nintendo] Two official wireless NES controllers for Switch $44.99

Not sure how hot this is, or if it's been lower in the past, but if you're an Nintendo Online member, they've discounted a two pack of wireless NES controllers to $44.99, down from the regular $79.99.

Expires Feb 2, 2022.

I'm tempted, but it's two buttons. I can continue using the pro controller no problem.

Would say the deal is pretty decent. Not sure these go on sale that often? I bought these in December '19....checked my receipt, $38.99 was what I paid on sale. Yes, I know you can't go back in time, just saying.

Couldn't tell you how good they are as they are still in the packaging LOL. I'm a Nintendo/video game hoarder and my kids don't allow me time to play. Face With Tears Of Joy

I tried to look for it, but couldn't find the answer. Does anyone know if these controllers would work with just dance 2022?

$9 shipping. Kills it for me, $61 all in. I'll stick to my 8bitdo or Pro remote for the occasional playing of limited NES games on Switch. Super tempting tho.

... yes. Why else would nintendo sell them if they didnt work with the games?
Just keep in mind they pretty much ONLY work with the NES games. I think the only reason a person would have to buy these is as collectors items. 8bitdo sells an SNES pad for i think around $45 that'll actually work with most switch games, including the classic NES/SNES games. Cheaper, better ergonomics, supports way more games, etc... but does not have the nostalgic feel. If you're a practical person, thats a better option.
(or just go get the 8bitdo SN30 pro 2, which is almost objectively the best controller for all the classic games, and 3D games if you like a Playstation layout controller)

Can you use the 8bitdo on the Switch without the USB dongle?

yes. The usb dongle is to use generic BT controllers(or other systems controllers that use BT) with the switch. Plug it in and dual shock4, Xbox One, Gamesir or steelseries, etc... will work with the switch.
The switch-compatible controllers dont even come with a dongle, you just turn the controller on in "switch mode"(home button + A i think. The other buttons set it to direct input, x input) and it should pair like a switch pro controller.

Honestly, I doubt it. I don't think these controllers have nearly the same tech as the joycons to allow for accurate tracking. I would stick with joycons or the smartphones.
With Koodo Mobile ($25 credit)

No, but being that it’s a sale for people who have the Nintendo Online membership, there are a bunch of NES and SNES games included for being a paid subscription member. SNES is irrelevant to your question, since these don’t have the required amount of buttons to play them, but just wanted you to be informed of what the membership offers for included game content.

Was going to do the same thing but at the bottom of the page it states:

"Offer not available for free trial holders."

The best we can do as a non-member would be to add $5 to the price (cost of a 1 month membership).

I'm thinking of purchasing a family plan. Anyone interested in joining?

I paid full price for these and even then I got my worth out of them playing the nes online games. Battery life is awesome in them and feels like a real nes controller. I was having a hard time playing nes game with the pro controller and the buttons being on a angle. These fixed that problem
