Nintendo Wii U VC: Wii Xenoblade Chronicles - 24.99$CAN (Starts April 28)...

Hi there,

For those who want to get the original Wii version, Nintendo is releasing it on VC for 24.99$CAN starting tomorrow... :D

Looks like my disc version will drop in price in terms of value... :( Well, at least I might buy this just I don't have to open my Wii version. *lol*

Does this version differ at all from the one being sold for the Wii U?

Half way though the new X version on Wii U and honestly i prefer the original Wii version better. Great story.

The new one just seems to lack some of the charm of the original one.

My hard copy of the original Wii game will be devalued by this as well :(

One advantage the virtual console version has compared to the disc version is that it supports off-TV play, so you can play it using the Gamepad.

For those worried about what this means for the value of the disc version, look at Earthbound.

Tons of virtual copies sold, perhaps a slight dip when the VC release happened but it eventually went right back up and kept increasing.

If anything, giving people a chance to try it for cheap will make people who prefer physical collections want it more.

In the end though be happy a game you like enough to own can now be accessed by others who want to play it. Value of a game should always come secondary to... playing the game.

I wasn't a fan of all the side quests, but the music in this game is really good.

Looks fantastic emulated with high res textures too *cough*

I tried really hard to like this game, X blew it away. Honestly, Xenoblade Chronicles X is the best game I've played in years. Loved Elma, hated that huh yeah uh uh uh uh music...

Considering the physical copies on Wii go for $60+, it is a deal. Especially for people who don't own it yet.

XCX surely looks great. Can't stand the loading time nor the noise from the disc tho. End up downloading 20GB to make the game smooth.

I consider myself just a casual gamer, aimlessly roaming around this virtual world 30 minutes at a time. I don't even bother with the missions or overly complicated customization and upgrades.

Does this play style justify the purchase of the original XC?
