[No Frills] Cracker Barrel Cheese $2.97 at Nofrills

Goes on sale once every few months for under $3. Usually $4 or more.

I emptied out the remainder at my local nofrills.

Good price for good REAL cheese.

Better than the extremely processed cheap stuff.

Such a shame Costco doesn't sell Cracker barrel anymore

220g, not the bars. Works out to $6/lb. Not bad.

I shudder every time I hear people refer to this type of cheese as ‘real’.

I’m not a cheese snob but you shouldn’t be able to bend blocks of cheese! I spend more on the proper English Cheddar (crumbly!).

My local NoFrills has the Armstrong 400 gram blocks for 3.77. That’s our preferred brand. But anything is better than the processed stuff, :-)

Anyone know the usual price for Costco cheese?
$/lbs or $/100g for comparison?

I believe it's $11.99 for 1100 grams. Might be 1200 but definitely an odd size, which I think they did to not have to price match to the sales like they did when it was the national brand. I figure that anything less than 1 cent/gram is a deal. I love the Baldersons from Costco but it's significantly more and I can't stop the kids from making (albeit very good) mac and cheese with it, so rarely buy it now unless it's for a special occasion and I can hide it from the rest of the household.

Came here to say this. Stopped buying Black Diamond / Cracker barrel a while ago, its just weird and feels like plastic and shiny.
Armstrong is 100x better, and when I can't get that, the no name chedder is actually really good, much better than most.

I bought Kirkland once for $13.89 1kg 48 slices since they replaced cracker barrel with it. It was pretty gross and "plasticky" when making grilled cheese.

I wish they still carried cracker barrel it was around $18

What about the modified milk ingredients in all these cheese? They are not completely from milk. Also Cracker Barrel mozzarella cheese is the only one from all these mass brands that doesn't contain modified milk ingridients

It is not processed like Kraft Singles. These are actual sliced cheese.

Armstrong is our favourite too. Cut piece off block is perfect size for Vinta Crackers.

There are .75 coupons on Zehrs boards to bring Armstrong down to 3.02 400g bar.
