I’m an avid Avocado eater. I was using avocado prices as a gauge of inflation. Looks like prices are finally returning to normal.

Depends on the size of the avocado . I find
That the cheap ones are tiny with almost no “ meat”

Is it better to buy fully green/hard avocados or better to find some that have started to darken/change colour?

What's the better bet to end up with yummy avocados. It's always a hit/miss for me..

Fully green is better.
You can control when it rips.
Use a paper bag and darkened banana to speed it up or put in fridge to slow it down.
Use this technique to avoid them ripping all at once.

Ditto. There was a period there where I did not have an avocado for nearly half a year. Christ. Been loading up lately.

Isnt avocado controlled by cartel?
The price is so inflated that they use it to finance their other busincess.

LOL, IKR? Even worse is cutting into a small one and it's like 90% pit.

100% agreed - it's uncanny how consistently bad they are

Usually they do. I havn't quite figured it out, but I have been in the same boat where you just get very shit quality small avocados. I've had some where they go bad very quickly, some just straight up stay hard for life. The ones we are getting now ripen up pretty damn nicely.

Tip: put them in the fridge as soon as they are ripe.

4 bags is a lot of avacados. Too many unless you have a big family.

We have 4 in the house, just made some smoothie today and nearly used up 1 bag already.
Of course, we intentionally picked up the ripen and green bags separately

I think if you put them in fridge their growth freezes. Once, I had to go out of town for a whole week so I tried to finish all of them except one last green one left which I thought would be over ripe in the fridge by the time I return. But when I returned home about ten 10 days later it was exactly the same in the fridge as I left and I had to leave it outside for another few days. Now I wonder how much chemically treated these produce are!!!
