[No Frills] [YMMV] No Name Portable BBQ $79.94

I bought this a few weeks ago, after the thread that had them posted at $99. My location (Smithers, BC) now has them at $79.94. YMMV by location? In my opinion it's a handy little grill that's worth it at both price points.

Does it use the small gas tank or standard gas tank?

It would help those who are interested by telling ppl "your location".

I was in No Frills Welland on Wednesday. They had quite a few, and the sign was still $99.

The No Frills on Thickson Road in Whitby had at least twenty a few weeks ago. Tonight They had a few left (didn't count them - maybe four or five) and the price was $79.94.

I'm in northern BC (Smithers). I'd be impressed if there was a single other RFD'er on here from Smithers.

It is intended to be used with 1LB propane tanks, however, you could easily use a 20 lb standard gas tank if you have the adapter hose which is sold everywhere for around $20

P.S. I saw it in store and the quality doesn't look to be very good, the grill grate is just a standard steel grate (not cast iron like the woods ones sold in canadian tire). the cookbox is also just thinly painted steel. That being said, I would get one just for the novelty and comedic factor for hanging out with friends. Normally I would use my weber q1200 grill. It's truly a buy it once, keep it for life kind of grill.

You should update your profile with that info.

Posting where "my location" is negates need for someone asking you "At what store" was that deal especially if it's a YMMV type.

Also you'd be surprised how many RFDers there are on here and where they are.

I did a little 'google street tour' of Smithers, BC, it looks beautiful....very scenic mountain views....looks as though you have all the amenities that most would need. Your weather overall looks to be on the cool(cold) side but still a nice little place. Thanks for your post OP! Will check out my local NF in the next few days Smiling Face With Sunglasses

These are a Weber Q100/1000/1200 clone, with a few differences.
1. Steel shell vs aluminum. Not a big deal imho.
2. Steel grates vs porcelain coated iron for Weber. This is likely the biggest difference. Don’t leave this grill outside, otherwise your grates will rust away. So keep it inside or garage or shed and you’ll be ok.
3. Weber grate is also solid over the burner to avoid flare ups. NF grill is not, so you need to be a bit more careful watching it.

Burner seems similar between them.

We have a used Q100. Solid grill, especially for the $100 we paid for it (used). Grates are awesome (grill fish without sticking).
I’d still recommend the Weber, even at normal new retail price. It’s just so good.
