This is expected. Not many people want to buy a phone with a mid-range processor at flagship prices.

I would LOVE to be wrong and get an Android 9 update, but TCL has nothing to gain from doing it.

Would be interesting to know who was responsible for holding/preventing updates though...

There is no advantage to having a BlackBerry phone in 2020. Regardless of who makes it.
