I think Craig will return. They are going to pay him a a lot to do one more film plus the film ended with a cliffhanger.

I'm definitely not against Craig returning to the role one last time. I've always liked him as Bond.

Oh, I just had a thought out of left field. It would be such a rush if they gave Colin Firth a role to play like a fellow double-O. "Galahad: On His Majesty's Secret Service".

It is possible the next Bond won't screen in theatres as both Amazon and Apple enter the arena for distribution rights?

OK it's clear the films will screen in theatres in any scenario but both As want to exploit the IP over more platforms

EON is looking at Danny Boyle to shepherd the next Bond outing

http://variety.com/2018/film/news/james ... 202705314/

I don't think the franchise needs such well known directors but it ain't my money

Deadline has a spin that there are two competing treatments: one by longtime Bond writers and this newer take from Boyle and his writer John Hodge

Danny Boyle has confirmed he will direct, and plans to begin principal photography by the end of the year.

He’s working with screenwriter John Hodge, with whom he collaborated on Shallow Grave, Trainspotting, The Beach and other films, to develop the script.

Daniel Craig will take that shaken martini now, as he confirmed to the Associated Press that his next cinematic project will indeed be the 25th James Bond movie. The 50-year-old actor already said in August that he'd be returning to the role, but this is the first admission that the wheels are finally in motion for the sequel to Spectre. When asked if Danny Boyle (28 Days Later, Sunshine) would be directing the project, Craig became a little more coy, saying "We'll see."

The preproduction with this film has reached a point where it seems like everything is solidified enough to do some real planning. Deadline reports that some of this planning is downright specific.

Not only is Bond 25 (they better come up with a title pretty soon) setting a production date of December 3, it has two release dates -- one for the UK and one for the U.S. The British will receive the film on October 25, 2019, while Americans will have to wait a few weeks, until November 8 of that year.

EON’s Michael G. Wilson and Barbara Broccoli said in a joint statement that they “are delighted to announce that the exceptionally talented Danny Boyle will be directing Daniel Craig in his fifth outing as James Bond in the 25th installment of the franchise. We will begin shooting Bond 25 at Pinewood Studios in December.”

MGM and Annapurna will be the domestic distributors for the film (MGM’s first Bond since Die Another Day, 16 years ago), while Universal will be handling the film internationally. That’s a big get for all companies involved, since Bond is a huge franchise to work with and was hard-won by all during a rumor-heavy bidding war. Now that the dust has settled, 007 will be following a timetable as he heads toward 25.
