Gotta hand it to Peele and his trailers - always intriguing.

Kaluuya's Peele's muse I think. It doesn't hurt that the dude's an amazing actor, like how he was just electrifying in "Judas and the Black Messiah," but there was something about what he brought to "Get Out" that made the film so special and complex. I liked "Us," but it wasn't as good IMO. So I'm hopeful that with Kaluuya there again, "Nope" will be great.
If I had more time, I would have written a shorter post

Good point!
I definitely enjoyed Get Out far more than Us.
Before North American audiences first started to recognize him (perhaps when UK Channel 4's 'Black Mirror' got moved over to Netflix), Kaluuya had some solid roles in other UK shows (my favs being Psychoville and Skins).

^ Think I may have to take a peek at the trailer above ASAP. Cineplex just sent me an email to inform me I can already buy my advance IMAX tickets for the July 22 release. Seriously, when is the last time they sold tickets that early for a movie? Almost never... LOL

I don't seem to get this guy as much as others. I thought Get Out was OK, and I couldn't even finish Us.

I may give Nope a chance, but on streaming though, not in theatres.

Get Out was a nice surprise for me. I did not want to watch it when it came out, but after hearing so much about it I finally caved in and was pleasantely surprised. Us was okay, nothing more.

I liked the first teaser for Nope, but not the latest one. I do like the cast so I will watch it eventually when it hits the net.

Really looking forward to seeing this next week in IMAX with all the CineClub tickets I've saved up since joining. Smiling Face With Sunglasses

I saw there was an IMAX trailer but didn't think it's warranted but I guess we'll find out

Looking forward to checking this out on the weekend.
Seems like watching it on a big AVX/IMAX screen is the way to go (based on the film used to shoot it and the cinematographer involved).

Embargo's been lifted - currently sitting at 81% RT and 77 MC.

Thought it started off fine - your usual horror film tactics where everything bad happens at night, loud background score timed with fake out jump scares, and weird people inhabiting the scene. By the end it goes off the rails goofy. Nowhere near as good, or as ground breaking, as Get Out or as thought provoking as Us. Personally I wouldn't rush out to see it.

The closest movie similar to this is Cloverfield. A big fat meh.

edited: corrected the movie name

Did you mean this?

If you're delivering a pizza to a guy, and he comes to the door naked, don't ask for a tip.
