Nordic Countries Score Highest in Social Mobility

Most economies need to bridge their social mobility gap. Overall however, the Nordic countries are the best performers. Denmark tops the rankings with a social mobility score of 85.2, closely followed by Finland (83.6), Norway (83.6), Sweden (83.5) and Iceland (82.7). These nations combine access, quality and equity in education, while also providing work opportunities and good working conditions, alongside quality social protection and inclusive institutions.

Canada ranks 14th, the US 27th. It seems that living the American dream is a lot more likely in liberal Canada and social democratic Europe than in the US.

Capitalism needs to be "managed" with strict rules other wise those at the top can use their position to stay at the top and avoid competition.

This has to be fake news. The billionaire that controls Fox News told me high taxes result in cannibalism and hellfire. That's why California has such a low population and the smallest economy in the US, while low-tax Mississippi is the nation's economic driver. Just look how cheap the houses are in Mississippi and how expensive they are in California because everyone wants to live in low-tax red states with small and ineffective governments. These Nordic folks must just be lying.

And their constant bragging about being the greatest country on the planet must fall under the notion that if you repeat something enough times more people believe it even when most objective measures put them nowhere near the top.

People do that with Canada all the time too. Based on some people on RFD, you'd think Canada is one of the worst country to live in sometimes.

(not saying Canada is the bestest ever either, just saying people will actively crap on the place despite many metrics scoring it as one of the better places to live)
