Assuming your 300mbps is symmetrical, stay with your plan and save your money. There are very few sites on the internet powerful enough that could saturate even a 300mbps connection.

I had 500 symmetrical with them for 65$ so I upgraded to 70$ for 1gig, but ill say I don't notice a difference because most of my devices are over wifi and I have a nighthawk rax70 triband router. I am in a 1000 sqf condo and I get speeds of half my wired speed of about 500-600.

My point is, unless you have a lot of wired devices to use the full capacity of gigabyte I would stay if you have 300-500. I didn't mind the 5 extra bucks for 1gig cause I do use a hardwired connection to my PC s it is nice when downloading certain things but if it was 15$ or more I would have stuck with 500 at 65$

I had 3 months free with Novus for new building promo and then regular rate started at $85. I emailed them requesting promo of $70 and received 3 years guarantee rate of $70 for 1GIG speed with March promo.

Novus is a niche fibre ISP based in Vancouver, which only wires specific high-rise, high-density buildings in the Greater Vancouver Region.

For GTA folk, think Beanfield or FibreStream equivalent for the west.

I was contemplating posting this deal as well since I signed up last month but I decided not to because I knew all the Ontarino's will get upset they can't get it. Probably should have added BC only [select buildings] in the title.

This is an AMAZING deal in my opinion. No contract and guaranteed pricing for 3 years. I'm getting 940s down/up right now for $70/month and first 3 months free. Actually because of how the credits work, they actually "pay" you a few dollars to use it in the first months.

Base on the logic of some of our fellow Ontarian from the beloved Go Transit thread, Where else is there a Novus?
Best deal (from excatly 20 years ago): 2 boxes (20 reams of 500) of HP 92 white papers from staples for $7.00
Back when staples price match and takes off 50% of the price difference. (2004)

For myself $70 for 1 Gb isn't worth it as my current deal is $49 for 500Mb unlimited no contract 2 year option which is more than i will really need. Perhaps 1 Gb might make sense for a gamer, or super heavy duty user however for most the additional bandwidth would be unused. A gamer might get slightly better latency, other than that most people cannot even take advantage of higher bandwidth. On my 500Mb service i get just a bit over 500Mb off ethernet, on wifi i come in at 480Mb at the furthest bedroom / makeshift office.

Who needs these speeds?

Instead of offering lower prices, they keep just offering speeds almost nobody needs.

We don't have the same luxury in West. Look at these quotes from the shaw thread in ongoing deals. For $50 the most you can get is internet 50. Internet 300 for $65 is considered hot. And that's on contract.
Existing shaw customer...currently have internet $50 for $49/month. Called shaw and they will only offer internet 50 for $60 ($11 increase) or shaw 300 for $65.
Neither option is attractive as I don't wanna be paying more for same service.

For those wondering, i ended up negotiating it down to $55/month for Internet 50 on a 2 year plan. I tried to get a bill credit too but was unsuccessful. So i'm paying $6 more per month after renewing for the same service.

Ever since my building got FibreStream hooked up, Novus has been sending these flyers to my building. Those with Novus building should contact their strata and look into getting FibreStream into their building.
