Thanks OP! I've been with Novus 13 years. Was not actively looking to upgrade or change but after reading this I just called and it was a breeze to get the deal!
Upgraded from Internet 35 to 100 for a year.
I have an old Motorola box which I own outright and a grandfathered cable tv plan from back in the day. My monthly bill for Internet 35 plus basic cable and a few add-ons has been $105 after tax per month.
They said I could upgrade to a Beam TV box for free, no monthly charge so long as I stay with them.
Also offered a free modem upgrade, no monthly charge as well.
Having said that, I don't watch much TV, mainly streaming so i was able to downgrade to TV Intro + Internet 100 for $50 plus tax for one year.
He said I could get the Internet 100 combo with TV Intro plus 5 theme packs for $65 month so that's an option as well.
Once again, thanks OP. Novus is great.

Omg thank you!!! Went from 35 to 100 while paying the same rate!! Insane!!
... and we lost grandfathered 35 for $35 price...

Will see what happens in a year... Reminder in place to start looking for deals come December sales.... really would not like to leave Novus...

EDIT: Full price is, actually, $80 after the first year [Internet only]...

Sigh, decisions. Currently with Telus on Pure Fibre 150 ($50) and Pik TV ($10), no contract, credits effective until 2020. Losing 50mbps, but gaining more channels, $65 a month with Novus.

When your current promotion is up, just contact them and ask if they have any promotions available. I did it few months ago when my internet is about to be full price, and they give me another year of promotion. Even though they said it’s one year only and I can’t do the same again, i won’t be surprised if they give it to me when it’s up.

Thank you for this! I was paying $35 for the internet 35 so they switched me over to 100 for the year!

Highly doubt you'll notice the speed drop. Just call Novus and you'll see the huge difference in customer support. Rarely ever wait on hold and always get friendly and competent agents.

Wish I can try it out, but I did not want to forfeit my grandfathered rate for Internet 35.

That is probably why they offering this Promo to current users no questions asked...

And, honestly, I still need to find out in practice why 35 would be limiting... For normal use, one Netflix line, some torrents... don't believe there is a real need for a 100...

Just called and literally took three minutes from dialing the phone to switch to the $50 deal. Novus, by far, has the best service.

The promo is now on the website too. How are the speeds with Novus?

I checked their speedtest tool and my Telus 150Mbps is actually 180Mbps, so it'd be almost half the speed..

I have Novus in my building and have the student discount with Telus ending in April/May. Will definitely be switching over to Novus after my promotion is over.
