If you owned and/or purchased an Apple iPhone 6, 6 Plus, 6s, 6s Plus, SE, 7 or 7 Plus smartphone device with iOS 10.2.1 or later (for iPhone 6, 6 Plus, 6s, 6s Plus, or SE) and/or iOS 11.2 or later (for iPhone 7 or 7 Plus) installed or downloaded, before December 21, 2017, you may be eligible for a payment from this class action.
The deadline to submit a claim is September 2, 2024.

Serial number MUST BE TYPED IN UPPERCASE/CAPITAL LETTERS

In the US, affected eligible users received $92 per device.
Apple iPhone 6, 6 Plus, 6s, 6s Plus, SE: must have had iOS 10.2.1 before December 21, 2017 you may be eligible for a payment from this class action.
Apple iPhone 7 or 7 Plus iOS 11.2 before December 21, 2017, you may be eligible for a payment from this class action.
Apple pushed out a "fix" (manually disabling throttling) in iOS 11.3 — March 29, 2018.

Edit: I suspect a lot of you either didn’t have iOS 10.2.1 installed by Dec 21 2017 or the serial checker is bugged because there is a lot of invalid serial comments here.

I'm interested, there's a couple devices in the family that I could claim compensation out of if it works out for the whole country.

I received an email about the class action

"Apple has agreed to pay between $11,137,500 CAD and $14,427,500 CAD (the “Settlement Funds”) in consideration of the full and final settlement of the claims of Class Members, including but not limited to the Class Action and the Proceedings (the “Settlement”). In return for the payment of the Settlement Funds, the Settlement provides that the claims of all Class Members asserted or which could have been asserted in the Class Action will be fully and finally released and the Class Action will be dismissed."

It will be interesting to see how much each cell phone owner actually receives. Probably $20.
