I just went through this with my first time purchasing. I signed with my lawyer today and closing is in 2 days. They sent me the total after receiving all the information from the bank as this includes any deposits etc, lawyer fees, disbursements, title insurance etc. They said you can get a bank draft and bring it in during signing or even quicker they asked which bank I was with, they gave me their holding account information with the bank I’m with so I could just transfer the funds straight to it and I brought them the receipt to the signing.

well then, if it is next week, it is close enough. The lawyer may just want you to get it ready. 1 week interest is nothing.

Yes, the lawyer holds your money in trust then releases the money to the correct parties once the deal is executed.
