Interlock driveway = rubber for sure
Concrete driveway = rubber probably
Better power in breaking up packed snow = metal auger

I have an asphalt driveway but the edges on either side have interlock. I just had new interlock put in - don't imagine this will be a problem with the steel auger will it?

Tbh I'd get the rubber version rather than risking catching on any interlock and damaging the work.

Too late as I already own the metal auger version. Is it possible to swap out the augers?

I don't think so. I don't own the Ego snowblower myself. But I'd just avoid using the snowblower on the interlock and shovel the edges by hand.

I wouldn't worry about it, the steel auger has a higher clearance than the rubber auger and I have interlock on the right side of my driveway. Unless your interlock is extremely unlevel, you shouldn't be using a snow blower at all. You'll be thankful you got the steel auger when you encounter an icy snowbank.

There's 20 posts back where someone demonstrated switching out the augers.

My interlock is not even (too lazy to level it), would it damage the blower even if I use the rubber one?

Any good deals on 5amp battery + charger? I'm ok with lightly used.

I also wonder if there are any deals for snowblowers, hoping to find a good price now that it's out of season.

Theres hardly any rebates on EGO products since there move to Lowes.
Also less chance to find rebates on individual batteries VS buying a kit (tool+battery).
Easier for you would be to buy a kit and sell the tool only on marketplace.

Can anyone comment on whether a mulching blade is required? I'm debating between two models of the EGO Mower, one is the Select+ which comes with the 3 blade options. The other is just a regular EGO Mower with just the single blade but does say it's a 3 in 1 (mulch, bag, side chute). Any recommendations/suggestions?

Has anyone had any luck finding a deal on replacement EGO batteries? Replacing my 5 AH from my mower will cost $380 plus tax. Thankfully I have the 2.5AH to use temporarily - but it's not a long-term solution as I'll need 3-4 charges to get through my lawn. The battery is 5 years old so I guess that's the lifespan? love the ego system - but it sucks to have to fork over that kind of $ every 5 years

Ego is like Apple: When it's too old, buy a whole new one, and sell or trash the old one.

Or you could buy a new mower, keep the battery, and sell the new mower as a bare tool.

I got the 3-in-1 model and mulching with it has been fine.

When my ego lawn mower battery started to die early, I bought an ego snow blower that came with two batteries.
Not sure what to buy next if those go..

Is it worth buying the older ego mower model LM2100 or buying the newer Select Cut. Lowes prices both as same price 579 for tool only but with battery and charger, it’s a $200 difference ($629 vs $829). Does the newer battery make that much of a difference?

I have the LM2100 but I upgraded to the high-lift blade.
Since I don't need a self-propelled model, I can't complain about this option.

You could probaly find an LM2100 for cheap on Kijiji, etc.

From what I’ve seen in the thread, no. Only when it was discontinued at Home Depot there was some deals.

Lowes has a coupon when you add the mower, for example if I add the $1149 LM2156SP, I get a coupon at the top for $75 off. I think that’s your best bet for a discount. And any sign up $ off offers from lowes
