MVIS spike #2

It dropped back to the $14s and I was like "nah, it's done running". Whoops!

And then of course now I'm saying "well there won't be a third spike".

Theories I'm seeing are shorts covering or some people know news that is coming. Is not another Reddit run according to the MVIS subreddit.

hmm, one of the buys I saw:
$MVIS
$15.42
103,675 shares
13:21:49

So that's about $1.6M. Unlikely retail unless some redditor is yolo'ing. Saw a couple more of these type of buys.

MVIS scores! 200 @ $12.80 buy, sold at $15.68 in a [20 minute span] Correction - 4.5 hour span.

Hit GLXY at $32.67 @ 200 shares as well. Will hold for $37 at least.

Market looks a little too volatile to keep too much, already holding a lot of bags. I logged into check on GLXY email notification, the MVIS buy was triggered, I sold it on the spot. A nice bonus on a red day for most of my holdings.

How in 20 min span?? $12.81 was at 9:52am and $15.6+ was at 12:48pm and again later...

Bought some HGEN on the dip yesterday and sold some today. Shorts must have messed up by dropping it more than 10% and putting it on the short restricted list.
As is usually the case with HGEN, I'm expecting it to get shorted again tomorrow and continuously all the way until the morning of the EUA announcement.

Oops....sorry. I blame email notifications I guess....I got the email that the buy went through, logged in and it was already over $16, so I put in to sell immediately, I guess I should have looked at the transaction history. I just relied on the email notification. It sold at $15.68, still happy for 4.5 hours wait.

Question for the traders here who use multiple services (QT, WS, big banks, etc.).

Do you have particular stocks that you prefer to trade from one service vs. another. I am aware some stocks cannot be traded, for example, with WS, so you have to use another service.

But are there other reasons to use one vs. another?

Thanks!

I have a mix of RBC Dominion via a broker, a smaller account set up eons ago by my parents, I left it there. It has some RRSP money, my son's RESP account there. Mostly ETFs and Mutual funds here. A few stocks (NIO, Amazon, Google, FB, Alibaba, Roblox, all sit here long term).

I mostly use BMO, and WS, but I have a TD account as well.

WS lets me play with high risk stocks in lower sums without transaction fees, incase I want out quickly. just a trading account on it.

BMO - because that's where my last job had me set up my RRSP account to work with RRSP matching. So I have RRSP and trading account here.

TD - that's where my mortgage is, mostly dividend holding or long term hold stocks. Only a trading and TFSA. I don't actively use this, it's just money sitting in dividend mutual funds/ETFs or stocks like Enbridge and Telus.

I moved everything to Questrade. I have never been happier. Yes I'll pay the fees for each transaction but the quantities that I play it's worth it. Plus it's more organized in one place.

I realized I had $10 left in my WS because of referral so I have $10 worth of Fort in there 🤣. I'll probably never sell 🤣
